Children’s Capital of Culture 2025

In 2025, Rotherham is celebrating becoming the world’s first Children’s Capital of Culture! We hope you’re as excited as we are to enjoy our Festival Year. There will be dance and drama, films and food, exhibition and events – with a few surprises along the way! And you’re all invited – join us!

WOWsers

In a world where identity is constantly evolving, Children’s Capital of Culture’s WOWsers programme is all about empowering LGBTQ+ young people to explore and express who they are. Through creativity, discussion, and shared experiences, we had explored personal identity in a welcoming and supportive environment. We shared what we learnt about self-expression and identity in our
‘pop-up’ exhibition inside the WOW Festival Hub and our powerful performances at Forge Island and the WOW Community Village.
