What is Pimp Your Ride/Pimp Up Your Pram?
Pimp Up Your Prams is an interactive, creative workshop and public showcase celebrating the journey of motherhood through the transformation of prams into symbolic and artistic expressions of strength, culture, and identity. This vibrant event will provide mothers and caregivers with a space to explore, create as well as sharing their personal narratives while engaging in a hands-on, visually striking art project.
Join us for a hands-on, creative workshop where mothers, grandmothers and caregivers come together to reimagine their prams as powerful storytelling pieces. Guided by Emma Wilson, participants will use fabric, paint, recycled materials, lights, and personal memorabilia to decorate and transform their prams. Each creation becomes a unique expression of strength, identity in the addition of the journey into motherhood. (This includes bikes, mobility scooters, walking aids etc.)
Create a welcoming and inclusive space where mothers and caregivers feel supported and celebrated.

Community Catwalk
Join Parent and Toddler groups from across Rotherham take over the high street with joy, colour and celebration at 12:30. Expect pimped up prams, toddlers with homemade instruments dressed up in local businesses clothing Yella Brick Road and Angel’s Little Delight. Join the groups with your prams or cheer
them on throughout the high street.

More About Emma Wilson
Emma Wilson is a documentary photographer and visual artist based in East Yorkshire. Drawing from her working-class background, she focuses on underrepresented communities, heritage and personal histories. Her work merges photography, storytelling, and material experimentation, to create compelling narratives that challenge stereotypes and amplify unheard voices.
With a BA in Ceramics from Falmouth and an MA in Documentary Photograph from LCC, spending 27 years as a community artist, having found the non-for-profit organization Artistic Spectrum. Her documentary projects include 5 Boomer T-Girls from Hull, exploring the lives of older transgender women in a working-class city. Amongst With Love, a photographic love letter to Withernsea, weaving together themes of place, climate change, and personal history.
