In Spring 2026, 10 young people worked with artist Emily Ryalls to create a series of analogue photographic portraits celebrating and archiving some of the most leading, daring and inspirational women who live and work in Rotherham.

Hope Brigade is WOW Global’s powerful, ongoing photography exhibition series, celebrating women and non-binary people who are leading change across ten urgent global issues — from climate justice to conflict, education to healthcare.

Emily Ryalls is an artist working across photography and performance. Her practice is focused on collaborative image making and artistic methods that hold space for women to come together and connect. Visually, her work draws on analogue photographic techniques and a feminist lens to open up opportunities for reflection on representation, embodied knowledge, gender and power.
